Inp.polri.go.id - St. Petersburg. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the status of its embassy in Tehran to highest alert of Siaga 1 due to escalating Israeli attacks on Iran, including civilian targets.

"Given the increasing intensity of Israeli strikes over the past two days, I’ve decided to elevate the embassy’s alert level from Siaga 2 to Siaga 1," Foreign Minister Sugiono said while accompanying President Prabowo in Russia, as reported by antaranews.com on Thursday (19/6/2025).

Approximately 380 Indonesian citizens are currently in Iran, mostly in Tehran. The embassy has been instructed to conduct a full evacuation assessment and prepare contingency plans.

“We’ve also reached out to Iran’s neighboring countries, requesting safe cross-border access for potential evacuations,” the minister added.

Israel began launching large-scale attacks on Iran on June 13, targeting nuclear facilities and military command centers. Iranian media report 585 dead and over 1,300 injured. In retaliation, Iran fired ballistic missiles into Israel, killing 24 and injuring 500.

Indonesia has strongly condemned Israel’s strikes, calling them a clear violation of international law.
