Indonesia Set to Deliver Humanitarian Aid by the End of the Week

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesian government along with humanitarian organization to send aids to Gaza. The aid will be sent to Egypt by the end of this week. “The aid will be sent to Egypt and will be received by Egyptian Red Cross and will be delivered to Gaza by UNWRA. The reason we sent the aid to Egypt is because they are the only ones who has the legal authority to send aid to Gaza,” says Indonesian Foreign Ministry spoke person, Muhammad Iqbal on Thursday (11/2/2023). Central Executive of Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Niniek Kun Naryatie states Indonesia has prepared up to IDR 2.9 billion value which include health equipment, generators, and oxygen cylinders. “Currently the aid is in PMI. We will have further coordination with Foreign Ministry regarding the delivery on Friday to Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport,” says Niniek. Meanwhile, the representative of Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance Ali Yusuf says his party have gathered funds from the public up to IDR 5 billion. The aid will be sent gradually to the victims in Gaza. On the other side, Deputy for Distribution and Utilization of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Imdadun Rahmat revealed that his party has also gathered up to IDR 10 billion funds from the community. The plan for humanitarian aid to Gaza is continuously coordinated particularly by Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Finance through the International Development Cooperation Fund Institute.
