Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia is set to bolster strategic trade and investment cooperation with France, focusing on key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and critical minerals.

"Indonesia has over 20 special economic zones that can serve as strategic locations for French investments," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a meeting with MEDEF International, led by Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, on Saturday )21/2/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The 2024 Indonesia-France trade volume reached USD 2.4 billion. To attract more foreign investments, Indonesia plans to establish Danantara, its sovereign wealth fund.

Discussions also touched on the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) and the planned visit of French President Emmanuel Macron in May 2025. The visit is expected to yield significant economic agreements, including a green hydrogen project in Sumba between PT PLN and Hydrogen de France (HDF Energy).
