Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) estimates that green jobs in Indonesia will reach 4 million by the end of 2025, accounting for 2.7% of the national workforce.

“By 2029, the number could grow to over 5.3 million or 3.14% under a high-growth scenario,” said Deputy Minister Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard at the launch of the Green Workforce Roadmap during Indonesia’s Green Jobs Conference on Friday (2/5/2025).

Up to 56 million existing jobs have the potential to transition into green roles by 2025. The roadmap targets eight priority sectors, including renewable energy and circular economy, and promotes vocational training aligned with green market needs, according to antaranews.com.

Challenges remain, such as gender participation gaps and informality. The roadmap, developed with support from Germany, Australia, and the World Bank, emphasizes collaboration across government, private sector, and civil society.
