Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Humanitarian aid from the Indonesian government for disaster and conflict victims has arrived in Sudan, delivered by a delegation from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

Abdul Muhari, the Head of BNPB’s Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Center, confirmed on Sunday (20/10/2024) that the plane carrying the aid landed safely at Port Sudan International Airport.

Led by BNPB's Deputy for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Jarwansah, the aid was received by Sudan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ismat Mustafa Yousif, and Deputy Health Minister on Friday, according to antaranews.com.

The aid, worth USD 1 million, included medicines, medical equipment, and supplies requested by the Sudanese government. The total shipment weighed 53.6 tons and was dispatched from Jakarta on October 14, with part of the same assistance having already arrived in Yemen.

Sudanese authorities are set to distribute the third wave of aid, totaling 29.6 tons, on Sunday. The assistance aims to support 25.6 million people affected by conflict and disasters, including 491,000 flood victims.
