Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian national football team, under head coach Patrick Kluivert, will gather in Sydney on Sunday, (16/3/2025), ahead of their 2026 World Cup Qualifier match against Australia four days later.

“The players will gather in Sydney, including those from the local league,” he confirmed after attending a press conference introducing Jordi Cruyff as the team's new technical advisor in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Coach Kluivert has called up 27 players for the upcoming matches against Australia and Bahrain. The squad includes nine players from Indonesia’s Liga 1, with two new faces: Septian Bagaskara (Dewa United) and Ole Romeny (Oxford United). 

The roster will expand further with the arrival of newly naturalized players Joey Pelupessy, Dean James, and Emil Audero, who must be registered by 13 March 2025, according to antaranews.com.

Domestic-based players will travel first after completing their club fixtures, while those playing abroad will join following their weekend matches. 

After facing Australia in Sydney on 20 March 2025, Indonesia will host Bahrain in Jakarta on 25 March 2025, with coach Kluivert targeting at least four points to keep Garuda’s World Cup hopes alive.
