Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia exported US$156.81 million (approx. Rp 2.5 trillion) worth of halal products to Australia in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 13.5% increase from the same period in 2024, the Ministry of Trade announced on Thursday (26/6/2025).
“The value of Indonesia’s halal product exports this year from January to March reached US$156.81 million, up 13.5 percent from the same period last year,” said Fajarini Puntodewi, the Director General of National Export Development, during a bilateral halal certification signing ceremony in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
In 2024, total halal exports to Australia reached US$634.5 million. Indonesia has signed a two-year partnership with the Global Australian Halal Certification (GAHC), an Indonesian diaspora-run agency in Australia, to enhance access and promotion of Indonesian halal goods.
The Ministry targets issuing 1,000 halal certificates for SMEs this year. In 2024, global halal exports were led by food (US$41.9B), modest fashion (US$8.28B), pharmaceuticals (US$0.73B), and cosmetics (US$0.43B).
