Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya.  Indonesia successfully hosted the 2025 Women’s U-21 Volleyball World Championship, marking its first time as the tournament’s venue. 

“The tournament went smoothly and successfully,” said Imam Sudjarwo, the Chairman of the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI), on Sunday (18/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com

He said that this debut hosting was a milestone for Indonesia’s presence in international volleyball, with visiting teams expressing appreciation for the country’s warm hospitality and organization.

The event ran from 7 to 17 August 2025 at the Jawa Pos Arena in Surabaya with 24 participating countries.

Italy claimed the championship title after defeating Japan in a thrilling five-set final. Meanwhile, host country Indonesia finished 16th after falling to Puerto Rico in another five-set battle.
