Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that preventing terror acts remains a key focus as Christmas 2024 approaches.
The INP and the Indonesian Military (TNI) forces have intensified security measures at worship sites, although no specific threats have been identified.
“We must involve interfaith leaders to foster harmony among religious communities,” said Chief Sigit on Friday (20/12/2024).
He also directed officers to ensure thorough sterilization and security checks at all worship venues as a preventive measure against potential threats.
The Chief highlighted the importance of early detection, routine patrols, and collaboration with community security groups to mitigate risks.
He urged vigilance for potential traffic congestion and extreme weather conditions during the holiday season. Agencies like BMKG, BNPB, and Basarnas were asked to coordinate with the police to prepare disaster response teams and ensure efficient distribution of resources to affected areas.
