Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) disclosed the initial motive behind the shocking child abuse case in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, where a 9-year-old girl was subjected to months of torture.
Two suspects have been arrested, identified as SNK (42), the child’s biological mother, and EF alias YA (40), her partner.
“From initial statements, the suspects cited stress and the child’s so-called misbehavior. But we emphasize that nothing justifies violence against children,” said Brigadier General Nurul Azizah, the Director of the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Women and Children Protection Unit, on Monday (15/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The girl, identified as AMK, revealed that suspect EF, whom he called “Ayah Juna” (father Juna), routinely beat, burned, and assaulted her, leaving her with broken bones and severe burns.
The police are now investigating whether her twin, identified as ASK, was also subjected to abuse. Authorities said the follow-up probe will include psychological assessments, further witness testimony, and forensic evaluation to prevent additional trauma.
