Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) handed over a seven-year-old girl, identified as MK, who suffered severe abuse in South Jakarta’s Kebayoran Lama in June, to the Jakarta Social Affairs Office for further care and protection.
“Today, we officially placed her under the custody of the Jakarta Social Affairs Office to ensure proper care and long-term protection,” said Brigadier General Nurul Azizah, the INP Director of the Women and Children Crime and Anti-Trafficking, on Friday (22/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Suspect MK was found in June with multiple serious injuries, including burns, fractures in the right arm and jaw, facial wounds, and malnutrition. She underwent several surgeries and intensive treatment at the INP’s Bhayangkara Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
Her condition has since improved, with significant weight gain and better psychological response.
The police continue to investigate the case, questioning witnesses and preparing a sketch of the suspect, while stressing that child protection remains a top priority.
