Inp.polri.go.id - Manado. The Indonesian National Police (INP) vessel KP Baladewa intercepted a Filipino fishing boat for allegedly stealing fish in the Sulawesi Sea.
Senior Superintendent Kukuh Prabowo, the Director of Water and Air Police of the North Sulawesi Regional Police, said that the vessel, named Queen Davie, was captured by the KP Baladewa-8002 ship on Thursday around 4 am local time in Indonesian waters.
During the operation, the police arrested the vessel's captain, a Filipino man identified as RD (44), 19 crew members, and seized significant evidence. The vessel was seized due to suspected fishing activities without proper permits in Indonesian waters. These activities are a violation of Indonesian fisheries laws and carry severe penalties.
According to Chief Kukuh, illegal fishing vessels often enter Indonesian waters at night and exploit local fishermen's information to evade detection.
The seized vessel and its crew have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
