Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) reported that the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza remains under Israeli military supervision, despite a ceasefire taking effect on 10 October  2025.

Israeli soldiers are still stationed around the hospital, particularly at the rear. I could only enter the Joserizal Journalists’ Residence from the south due to tanks and intermittent gunfire. The residence, used for volunteer coordination, is heavily damaged with walls breached and supplies scattered,” a local MER-C volunteer said on Thursday (16/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Since the outbreak of war in October 2023, the hospital has repeatedly been targeted. In November 2023 and October 2024, Israeli attacks damaged operating rooms and endangered nearby displaced civilians. In May 2025, Israeli forces besieged the facility, halting medical services and forcing staff evacuation.

MER-C confirmed that some displaced residents have returned, but the Israeli military  continues to restrict volunteer activities and hospital operations, hindering humanitarian aid delivery and medical services for local populations.
