Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri praised online motorcycle taxi driver Ahmad Fauzi for foiling an attempted motorcycle theft in East Jakarta on 22 October 2025.
“This award represents our appreciation for citizens who take an active role in maintaining public safety and serve as partners of the police in preventing crime,” he said during a ceremony at East Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Headquarters on Monday (3/11/2025).
He explained that the incident demonstrated the success of the Ojol Kamtibmas (Online Drivers for Public Safety) program launched by the Indonesian National Police Chief on 20 October 2025 at National Monument (Monas) square.
Fauzi acted upon witnessing the theft, secured evidence, and coordinated with police officers leading to the suspect’s arrest. In addition to a certificate, Fauzi received an Umrah travel package, which he gifted to his parents.
Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto said Fauzi’s action exemplifies effective police–community partnership and announced plans to expand Ojol Kamtibmas training across Jakarta.
