Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung announced immediate recovery measures after violent demonstrations near the House of Representatives (DPR) building that left public facilities damaged and claimed the life of 21-year-old ride-hailing driver Affan Kurniawan, who was fatally struck by a police tactical vehicle.
“All transportation modes under Jakarta-owned companies must continue operating. Burned bus stops and public facilities must be repaired quickly,” he said on Saturday (30/8/2025) after visiting Affan’s family home, as reported by antaranews.com.
He confirmed repairs have already begun, including at Slipi 1, which has reopened. TransJakarta bus services will be restored gradually, with fares waived for the next eight days as many ticketing machines were destroyed.
City workers, including cleaning staff, locally known as pasukan orange, and water services, known as pasukan biru, were ordered to continue operating over the weekend, while Car Free Day will proceed as normal on Sunday if conditions remain calm.
The governor also directed the communications office to intensify the “Jaga Jakarta” (Protect Jakarta) campaign, urging residents to remain peaceful.
