The National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo continued his tour to ensure the availability of bulk and packaged cooking oil, as well as the selling price to the public following the policies issued by the Government. After inspecting Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, this time he inspects the producers at PT. Asianagro Agungjaya, Cilincing, North Jakarta. His inspection was accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi, and the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. "Today, we directly monitored PT. Asianagro Agungjaya. Today, they said have produced 800 tons of cooking oil per day. We came here to see the process step by step. Today, the price with the highest retail price determined by the government is already on the market. Hopefully, all the needs of traditional markets, the needs of the community related to the bulk oil can soon be fulfilled," said Sigit in his review. Sigit emphasized that the Food Task Force (Satgas Pangan) at the central and regional levels will assist in escorting, monitoring, and distributing the goods to the market. The commitment done by Polri is to ensure that cooking oil is properly distributed to the market and sold at the highest retail price. That way, the community's need for cooking oil can be fulfilled and it is hoped that there will be no need to queue to get the goods. "I ask the Supervisor of Community Security and Order (Bhabinkamtibmas) to monitor all traditional markets so that they can report to the Food Task Force which markets are running out of cooking oil and which markets with the high prices. That way, we can coordinate with fellow producers and distributors as well as the relevant Ministries to ensure that everything complies with the rules," said Sigit. Furthermore, Sigit emphasized to all parties to be disciplined in monitoring the cooking oil supply chain for the community. He will not hesitate or be reluctant to take firm action against all parties who violate the rules. "I urged you, don't let anyone take advantage of this situation or violate the policies of the government. We will not hesitate to hunt down those who hoard the cooking oil, we will definitely pursue it," said Sigit. Furthermore, Sigit appealed to the public not to worry because the Government, along with all relevant stakeholders, are currently working hard to ensure the availability of cooking oil at a regulated sales price. "Once again I urge to all fellow producers and distributors who have registered and made an integrity pact to immediately distribute goods, please distribute the goods accordingly. This has to be done so that we can prevent the scarcity of cooking oil in the market," concluded Sigit.
