Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said several vital facilities in disaster-affected areas of Sumatra and Aceh are gradually returning to normal, including fuel stations, electricity, and internet connectivity, although some locations remain partially operational.
“When I visited two days ago with President Prabowo, all fuel stations were already operating. There were no long queues, which means supplies were sufficient,” he said on Saturday (3/1/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.
Minister Tito said access to strategic roads and bridges has begun to reopen, allowing public and logistics traffic to move again. Electricity and telecommunications services have also improved, though outages persist in areas where power and communication towers collapsed.
The government, the minister said, has mobilized all available resources to accelerate recovery, including state-owned utilities and central and local agencies. Restoration of local government services and economic activity is now a priority to ensure communities can resume daily life.
To support recovery, the Home Ministry has deployed more than 1,100 cadets from the Institute of Public Administration in stages to assist affected regions.
