Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated it will not intervene in the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police's investigation into KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata regarding his meeting with former Yogyakarta Customs Head Eko Darmanto.
KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika confirmed on Tuesday (15/10/2024) Marwata's presence at the Jakarta Metro Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate as a sign of his cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
"His attendance today demonstrates his willingness to engage with the allegations against him," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
During his questioning, Marwata clarified the nature of his meeting with Eko, repeating he had no prior knowledge of him before the meeting, which was known to other KPK leaders. Marwata insisted that the meeting did not result in any personal gain or conflict of interest.
The Metro Jaya Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate has posed 24 questions to Marwata during the inquiry.
