Inp.polri.go.id - Bandarlampung. Lampung Regional Police have uncovered an international drug smuggling network, seizing 30 kilograms of methamphetamine from Malaysia.
“Today's operation is the result of collaboration with various parties, including the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar toll management,” said Lampung Police Chief inspector General Helmy Santika on Friday (26/7/2024).
The operation, which took place on 9 July 2024, involved multiple strategic locations: Bakauheni Port, Bakauheni Selatan toll exit, and restaurants in Jambi and Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, according to antaranews.com.
Police recovered 30 kilograms of meth with the drug’s street value estimated at Rp 30 billion,, several vehicles including a silver Toyota Avanza and two Daihatsu Terios, ten cell phones, and bank books. A suspicious phone led to the discovery of the drugs hidden in the Toyota Avanza.
The case is under investigation for possible links to Freddy Pratama’s syndicate.
Seven suspects, including Suwendo, M. Riski, and Ardiansyah, were arrested. The suspects face severe penalties under the Narcotics Law.
