inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Director General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law, Razilu, said that the ministry affirmed its commitment to protecting creative works in the digital era through three main focuses.

On his occasion, he revealed that the three focuses include the challenges of creative works in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), strengthening regulations. And improving the quality of copyright services.

"The digital era presents new complex challenges, ranging from reproduction and distribution of digital works without permission. The issue of ownership of creations due to the presence of technology such as artificial intelligence is also a challenging issue for us," he said on Tuesday (11/19/2024).

Razilo highlights the importance of strengthening regulations to protect digital works adaptively. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet of things require flexible legal regulations to accommodate ever-growing innovations.

Until now, the government has continued to innovate in providing the best services, one of which is by launching the Automatic Copyright Application Approval Program (POP HC). This has reduced the time for recording creations from 9 to 12 months to just 3 minutes.

He further said that thanks to this convenience, people now prefer online services. The number of copyright applications increased significantly to 141,999 in 2023 from 117,084 in 2022.
