inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Maluku Regional Police asked the regional Transportation Department to improve the preparation of maritime transportation ahead of the 2024 regional elections.

“During the Regional Head Election, we do not want any issues that could hinder the people in casting their rights. The preparation of maritime transportation must be strengthened, including its armada, routes, and operational hours,” says the Head Ops Bureau of Maluku Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ronald Refli Rumondor on Friday (10/18/2024).

Police also highlight the importance of ensuring the safety and comfort of the ship passengers.

The Transportation Department is urged to do routine checks on operating ships and ensure all safety protocols are implemented.

Refli also asked the Transportation Department to coordinate with regional Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to monitor potential disruptions that may occur due to bad weather conditions.

He hopes that coordination and communication between related agencies can continue to be maintained well, so that obstacles and problems that may occur during the election stages until the voting can be anticipated and prevented.

"We hope that the election in Maluku can run safely, peacefully, and smoothly," said Refli
