Married Couple Arrested by Police in Bukittinggi for Trafficking Drugs

inp.polri.go.id - Bukittinggi. The Drug Criminal Investigation Unit of Bukitting Sub-regional City Police arrested a married couple for smuggling methamphetamine.

Head of the Drug Criminal Investgation Unit, Police Senior Inspector Pratama Yuda says that the two were arrested when packaging the illicit items.

“We got the information from the public, and thanks to that the two suspects were caught red-handed packaging the meth at their home in Gadut, Agam,” says Yuda on Wednesday (3/5/2025).

The couple are both aged 27 years old with the initials of AK and PO. From the arrest of these two, police were able to arrest another drug suspect.

"We have secured another suspect with the initials F who is suspected of being an accomplice of the married couple," he explained.

Other than confiscating meth, police also found ecstasy pills at their house.

“There are huge meth packages at their house which we seized, also 10 ecstasy pills that we found in their pocket. Other seized evidence are their phones,” explains Yuda.

The two suspects will be charged with Article 113 of the Narcotics Law carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
