The Mimika Supporters Alliance lights thousand candles at Timika Indah Field, Timika, Friday (10/7) night, as a solidarity between football fans to commemorate the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. The Mimika Police Chief, AKBP I Gede Putra, said that on behalf of the entire Mimika Police, he offers his deepest condolences. “I hope those who passed away would get their eternal peace and for their families, friends, and loved ones to be given strength to get through this difficult times. Let’s together maintain the peace and the brotherhood of Mimika so that our proud land is always safe and secure,” said Mimika Police Chief in his remarks. On that commemoration, there were also the member of Mimika Regional House of Representatives, Redy Wijaya, other representatives of football upporters such as The Karaka's (Persipura), Aremania (Arema FC), Bonek Timika (Persebaya), SLA Mania (Persela Lamongan), Viking Papua (Persib Bandung), TUAJ Zone Timika (PSM Makassar), K-conk Madura United), etc. Reddy Wijaya said he was saddened for the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang which killed more than 100 supporters. It is hoped that the incident in Kanjuruhan Malang will not happen again. "What happened yesterday, hopefully won't happen again. We are all peaceful, the supporters are full of love and we also show solidarity, this is the supporters of Mimika Regency," he explained. The commemoration began with singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and followed by a moment of silence after which a statement of attitude was read by Frederick Magai from the Persipura Supporters (The Karakas) and accompanied by the Mimika Supporters Alliance.
