Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia announced that Rempang residents will receive compensation tailored to their individual assets. The comprehensive package includes designated land spanning 500 square meters, a type 45 house valued at IDR 120 million, transitional funds of IDR 1,2 million per person until house completion, and a house rent of IDR 1,2 million.
"For residents who have rights and possess well-maintained properties, even if they do not meet the Type 45 standard or the value of IDR 120 million, for instance, a building valued at IDR 350 million, these cases will be assessed by the KJPP (Public Appraisal Services Office). Any discrepancies in asset valuation will be addressed by BP Batam. This assessment will encompass various assets, including cages, plants, and canoes, all of which will be valued proportionally based on established criteria and calculation methods," The Minister was quoted by antaranews.com after a coordination meeting to accelerate the development of environmentally friendly investment in the Rempang Island in Batam, Riau Islands, on Sunday (17/9/23).
The meeting concluded with an agreement to handle the Rempang issue with sensitivity and respect for the longstanding presence of generations of residents.
Minister Bahlil stressed the importance of clear communication in this process, stating, "We will continue to respect the people who have been there for generations. So, we must communicate well."
The meeting also addressed the revocation of permits for individuals who had established businesses or owned land in Rempang. Minister Bahlil highlighted the significance of this matter, emphasizing the need for special attention.
He further disclosed his intention to hold weekly meetings with the Governor and BP Batam to expedite area development.
"We assure that this investment is dedicated to the well-being of the people, promising job creation, income augmentation, and ensuring that relocated individuals receive their rightful entitlements," Minister Bahlil concluded.
