inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Viada Hafid, stated that Indonesia's digital transformation could attract global attention. She made this statement during a panel discussion entitled "The Role of Governments and all Stakeholders in the Promotion of ICTs for Development."
She explained that this potential stems from Indonesia's implementation of an inclusive digital transformation model. Furthermore, she noted that Indonesia continues to intensify its digital infrastructure development efforts, extending to all corners of the country.
"Digital connectivity is a right for everyone, not the privilege of a select few. The internet must be available in rural, urban, and remote areas," she explained, as reported by RRI on Thursday (7/10/2025).
She further revealed that to realize this digital transformation, Indonesia is taking several strategic steps, including integrating infrastructure development, improving human resource capacity, and promoting digital literacy.
By July 2025, the 10,000 digital villages program, run by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Development's (BAKTI), had reached 4,132 villages. This has connected more than 3.8 million residents in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions to digital services.
