Ministry of Communication and Information Work Together with Other Parties to Resolve NPWP Data Leaks

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Information responded to allegations of a data leak of the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) belonging to the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance.

Several data were claimed to be of President Joko Widodo, ministries, and other high officials. Responding to this allegation, the Ministry of Communication and Information has asked for clarification from the Directorate General of Taxes.

The Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry, Prabu Revolusi says that his party continues to coordinate with related stakeholders regarding data leaks.

“Currently the Ministry of Communication and Information is following up and coordinating intensively with BSSN, Finance Ministry Directorate General of Taxes, and Indonesian National Police (INP),” says Prabu Revolusi on Wednesday (9/21/2024).

Prabu also said that PDP law regulates criminal policies on every person who intentionally breaks the law, such as revealing other’s private data or using other’s private data.

“Leaking private data that is not theirs is a criminal action that can be punished with four years of imprisonment and a fine of IDR 4 billion,” explains Prabu.

On the other hand, he also reminds that using private data that is not theirs can also be punished with five years of imprisonment and a fine of IDR 5 billion.

“The sanction process of PDP Law will be carried out by the law enforcement according to the applicable law,” concludes Prabu.
