inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy says tourism villages need to be supported with events so that it could promote the tourist destination and give a bigger impact to the local economy.

“We want to promote this tourism village to be a top tourist destination in the community based tourism sector, which is a tourism that is based on local wisdom. One of the ways to promote them is through holding events,” says Minister Sandiaga on Sunday (9/22/2024).

In a written statement, he explains the event has to rely on three main values, which are sustainable, supporting environmental preservation and improving the local economy. Then, events that must be held consistently and improved in quality every year.

“So the tourism village will not only have nature based tourist attractions or culture, but they will also have various cool events. The expectation from this initiative is to boost our economy and become more capable in preserving our culture,” explains Minister Sandiaga.

Furthermore, Minister Sandiaga said that his party has presented Senandung Dewi, an event to present flagship events in the tourism village. This program aims to support and improve the quality of organizing tourism events in tourist villages.
