inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Law and Human Rights acts against companies affiliated with online gambling by blocking their access, reporting to the law enforcement, to cancel the decision letter of establishment of the company.

The Director General of General Law Administration (AHU) Cahyo Muzhar says the various steps have been taken since the company registered into their system to anticipate the illegal activities.

“We can see their company establishment's purpose from their deed, and if we find it, we will not approve. And if there are no oddities in their deed, and commit the illegal activities afterwards, we will also act against it,” said Cahyo on Thursday (8/15/2024).

He explained that when a company is first established, they will register at the Directorate General of AHU as a registered company to obtain a deed of establishment which contains the purpose of establishing the company. Apart from that, the company must also choose the Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields (KBLI) which will be included in the deed.

The registration is carried out by a notary who is under the supervision of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. When making a deed, the purpose of establishing a corporation must not conflict with the law, so this responsibility lies with the notary before ratifying the deed of establishment.

If a company that has received a deed of establishment along the way suddenly becomes involved in illegal activities or business, such as online gambling, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights will first consult with law enforcement, the public, complaint services, and so on.

Afterwards, the ministry will block the company's access to the Legal Entity Administration System (SABH) and the Online Single Submission (OSS) system and report the company to law enforcement officials.
