inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko welcomes the visit from Japanese parliament member Gen Nakatani and delegates at Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/24/2024).
The visit was to discuss various topics, including strengthening the human rights implementations.
During the meeting, Moeldoko shares his experience and view on how Indonesia implements the Human Rights, which is by pushing every regencies and city to always involve the human rights elements in their policies and regulations.
“In the good governance context, all development in the region must be based on human rights. Every year, there is a Human Rights Festival across our country, and this is good and could be an insight for the regional government,” said Moeldoko on Wednesday (7/24/2024).
On the other hand, Moeldoko presents various ways and steps taken by the government in improving human rights protection and how to resolve its issue.
The human rights problem resolvement, said Moeldoko, can be resolved through non-judicial settlement, such as providing compensation in the health, housing and education sectors, as well as judicial solutions with strong evidence.
As a democratic country, Indonesia has the full attention to maintain the balance between stability and transparency.
“Democracy has been going smoothly amidst the challenges of disinformation and hoaxes. Our role is to maintain the stability of that political communication,” concludes Moeldoko.
