Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Muhamad Akbar was appointed as the President Director of state-owned steel company PT Krakatau Steel (Tbk) during an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on Monday (16/12/2024).
Prior to this role, he served as the company's Commercial Director from 31 July 2023. Before joining Krakatau Steel, he was President Director of PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (PT KBS), Indonesia's largest bulk terminal with an annual capacity of 25 million tons.
Akbar has also held several other leadership positions within the Krakatau Steel Group, including President Director of PT Krakatau Niaga Indonesia in 2019 and President Director of PT Krakatau Global Trading in 2020. In these roles, he successfully implemented transformation and restructuring programs, contributing to the group's overall success.
Currently, Akbar serves as Chairman of the Indonesia Iron & Steel Industry Association (IISIA) and Chairman of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI), according to antaranews.com.
The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises has also appointed Wilgo Zainar as Independent Commissioner of PT Krakatau Steel (Tbk). The board of directors now includes Utomo Nugroho as Director of Infrastructure and Operations and Hernowo as Director of Commercial, Business Development, and Portfolio.
