Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense has underlined the importance of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and media in strengthening the country’s resilience against information warfare.
Brigadier General Frega Wenas Inkiriwang, the Head of the Defense Information Bureau (Infohan), said digital-era conflicts are not only fought with military hardware but also through disinformation and propaganda.
“We hope NGOs can help with fact-checking or amplifying the truth when false or unbalanced reports emerge that could mislead the public,” he said at a defense seminar in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The seminar, titled “Synergy of Non-Governmental Institutions in Strengthening Indonesia’s Global Defense Narrative,” gathered representatives from media, think tanks, and public relations officers.
According to Chief Frega, such forums are crucial for gathering insights to improve state and non-state collaboration in countering disinformation that threatens political and domestic stability.
