Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. More than one million registered vehicles in Jakarta have not renewed their annual taxes, creating a potential revenue shortfall of around Rp 1 trillion (USD 60 million).
“If even Rp 300–400 billion can be collected during the tax amnesty, it would already be a good outcome,” said Jakarta Revenue Agency Head Lusiana Herawati on Tuesday (17/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Jakarta administration is offering a tax amnesty program in conjunction with the city’s 498th anniversary, waiving penalties and interest for late payments to encourage vehicle owners to pay overdue taxes.
“This program specifically targets vehicles that have not completed their annual registration and payment,” Lusiana added.
The tax relief program began on 14 June 2025 and will run through31 August 2025, as part of broader efforts to improve taxpayer compliance.
