Papua Police Vows to Brought the Assault of Gold Miner Case to Justice

Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police takes stern steps on gold miners assault case by the Armed Criminal Group. The tragic incident occurred at Kali I, Mosum II Village, Samboga District, Yaukimo on Monday (10/16/2023) around 14:30. The attack by Armed Criminal Group has killed five gold miners. Papua Regional Police Chief, Mathius D Fakhiri explains that his party have collaborates with local figures and related stakeholders to gain solutions and suggestions in handling this case firmly. This step was taken to the dangers that will be faced by Indonesian joint security forces. “We are still processing the case by visiting local figures and ensures victims safety. Currently, we still are not able to deploy our security force to the location because of the high risk,” explains Papua Police Chief in his written statement on Tuesday (10/17/2023). He stressed that his party will not tolerate any firearm criminal actions in Papua. However, in taking firm steps against those crime, they will have to formulate a well-made plan to suppress the number of casualties. “Security officials and related stake holders are working together to uncover this case. We will also improve our security patrols to ensure safety of elections in Papua,” states Police Chief. This incident shows the escalation in Papua that has been raging recently.
