Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  Senior Brigadier Marsidon Debataraja, a police officer of the Jayawijaya Sub-regional Police, has been evacuated to the Indonesian National Police (INP) Bhayangkara Hospital in Kramat Jati, Jakarta, for further treatment following a gunshot wound sustained in Wamena, Papua.

Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force, on Sunday (1/6/2025), officer Marsidon was shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) on 28 May 2025 after escorting a traffic accident victim to Wamena Regional Hospital.

His condition is currently stable after initial treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital. accprding to antaranews.com.

On the same day, another officer, Second Brigadier Joshua Nainggolan of Yahukimo Sub-regional Police, was severely injured in a machete attack by an unknown assailant near Dekai Regional Hospital. He remains under medical care at Bhayangkara Hospital in Jayapura.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents as part of intensified security measures in the region.
