Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Criminal Investigation Agency has identified Catur Adi Prianto, the Director of Persiba Balikpapan football club, as a major drug distributor in East Kalimantan.

Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa, the INP Criminal Investigation Agency’s Director of Drugs Crimes, said on Monday (10/3/2025) that Catur had long been under police surveillance and was allegedly orchestrating drug operations from  inside Balikpapan Prison. 

A prison raid on 27 February 2025 led to the arrest of nine inmates involved in drug distribution.

“He has been on our radar for quite some time. The evidence clearly shows that he played a central role in coordinating drug transactions from behind bars,” Chief Mukti said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Investigations uncovered a financial network linking Catur to multiple bank accounts, reinforcing his role as the primary financier. He is now in the INP’s Criminal Investigation custody, along with two key associates, while other suspects are being held at East Kalimantan Regional Police headquarters.
