North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi confirmed that a total of 102,870 civil security officers, known as Linmas, will also be deployed to safeguard polling stations on the voting day on 14 February 2024.

"The security measures on the voting day apply to a total of 45,875 polling stations across North Sumatra," he was quoted by Senior Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, the North Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Unit as saying on Thursday (8/2/2024).
The North Sumatra Police will conduct a deployment briefing for additional security forces and oversee security measures in police precincts, he said.
"1,162 Sabhara rapid response unit personnel and 1,000 Mobile Brigade personnel will support police precincts in securing the voting process to ensure peaceful and secure elections," the spokesperson said.
