inp.polri.go.id-Jakarta. Directorate of Drug Crimes of Crime Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police destroyed seven hectares of marijuana fields in Mount Lauser area, precisely in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang area, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh.

Besides destroying the fields, police managed to thwart 529 kilograms of dried marijuana ready for circulation from marijuana suppliers and the collector network of Aceh-Medan-Palembang-Jakarta-Bogor cannabis.

Head of the Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, explained that this disclosure started from the confiscation of 198 packets of dried marijuana weighing 223.95 kilograms of marijuana on June 9, 2021 result of the development of the Jakarta-Palembang-Medan distribution network.

"From the team development, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, they managed to secure four suspects with nine sacks of marijuana, which contained 280 packages of marijuana weighing 3044.60 kilograms," Argo said in a written statement, Thursday (07/01). 

The four suspects arrested are IB (42), IS alias UC (44), MA (35), and RD (37). Argo mentioned, based on the investigation of the four suspects and information obtained from the public, the four suspects turned out to have marijuana fields.

"The team then searched Gunung Leuser area and found seven-hectare marijuana field in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang area, Ateuh Banggalan Regency, Nagan Raya Regency," Argo said.

This 7-hectare marijuana field can produce 630 thousand dried marijuana sticks with an estimated weight of 210.529 tons. If the market price of 1 kilogram of marijuana is IDR 4 million, then the value of the field is IDR 842 billion.

"If 50 people consume 1 kg, then 210,529 kg multiplied by 60 people, then 10,526,450 lives are saved from marijuana-type drug abuse," Argo said.

But more importantly, Argo said, Indonesian National Police managed to save 10,526,450 children's lives by destroying the marijuana field.
