Police Examine 16 Witnesses of National Museum Fire Incident

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Police has examined 16 witnesses of National Museum, or famously known as Museum Gajah, fire incident. “The team is still working on examining these witnesses. There is still no further info regarding the fire. We still need more time,” said Metro Central Jakarta Sub-regional Police, Grand Commissioner Komaruddin to media, Tuesday (9/19/2023). According to him, the cause of the incident is still yet to be unknown and further investigation process is still ongoing. Team also still continue to separate the fire debris from the historical artifacts. “Right now, we can only do the separation process, while the team from forensic laboratory conduct their investigation intensively,” said Komaruddin. Meanwhile, 80 personnel have been deployed to the museum to maintain stability and sterilization around the site. The security reportedly will be conducted 24 hours to ensure no historical asset been stolen. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
