Police Identified the Burnt Mutilated Corpse in Marina, Semarang City

inp.polri.go.id - The riddle of the identity of the corpse in the Marina area of Semarang City is slowly being revealed. The police confirmed that the headless burnt body found at Marina Semarang was a civil servant of the Semarang City Bapenda, on Thursday (15/09/2022). From the results of a DNA test taken from a sample of the corpse at the scene, it is identical to those of Iwan Budi Paulus, a civil servant of the Semarang City Bapenda who was reported missing. Iwan is also happened to be a witness to a corruption case. Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Commissioner Iqbal Alqudus said, the findings are identical, so they 100% certain that the corpse is indeed Iwan's. The DNA test was carried out by the forensic team at the National Police Headquarters. The test was taken from five samples, which is from the victim's ribs, the clavicle bone (enthong), two samples of male DNA, and a DNA sample of girl. "I express my condolences for the death of the deceased," explained the Head of Public Relations. Previously, the joint team managed to find pieces of Iwan's body about 5 meters from the location where the body was found. "The body parts found approximately 4-5 meters from the crime scene," Semarang Police Chief, Commissioner Irwan Anwar, said at the crime scene.
