Responding to this, the Central Java Police have uncovered a case of fuel abuse. Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, revealed that his party recently has managed to dismantle the fuel abuse. "Based on the observations of the Special Criminal Investigation team, we have secured 82 tons of fuel, along with 75 people being secured," said the Regional Police Chief during a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Hastina Pura Convention Center (HCC) in Hotel Java Heritage Purwokerto, on Thursday (15/09/2022). “They get the fuel from various gas stations and then hoard them. Other than that, they also mixed and changed Pertalite into Pertamax by being given certain ingredients, while also mixed diesel fuel with certain substances," said the Central Java Police Chief. To find a solution to ease the burden on the community due to the increase in fuel prices, the Central Java Police held a FGD. The FGD with various elements of the community took place in the Hastina Pura Convention Center (HCC) Room of the Java Heritage Hotel Purwokerto. The Central Java Police Chief who was present at the event gave an explanation that the FGD is a pre-emptive effort by the Central Java Regional Police in order to reduce the impact of the increase in fuel prices. “Our hope is that we will work together to overcome the impact of government policies. Together we will get through this," the Central Java Police Chief hoped. In addition to holding FGDs, his party also specifically oversees assistance from the government due to the increase in fuel prices. They will mobilize Bhayangkara Security Unit, and the Security Intelligence Directorate will also be in deployed in the social department to validate the assistance that will be given to the communities.
