Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Aceh Tamiang Sub-regional Police on Monday (8/12/2025) inspected flood-damaged vehicles abandoned along the main road to the Tanah Terban gas station following viral rumors claiming bodies were found inside.

“After checking every vehicle, we found no bodies. The circulating reports are false. The smell people mentioned came from flood mud, not anything else,” Aceh Tamiang Police Chief Superintendent Muliadi said, as reported by antaranews.com

The operation involved Aceh Police’s Community Development Directorate and dozens of officers to ensure all affected vehicles were thoroughly examined. Police emphasized that unverified claims spread online had escalated unnecessary fear during ongoing recovery efforts.

Authorities reminded the public to remain calm and avoid sharing unconfirmed information, warning that misinformation could disrupt disaster-response operations.
