Police Investigate Denny Indrayana's Account Regarding Hoaxes and Leakage of State Secrets

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police are investigating the social media accounts of former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, Denny Indrayana, regarding allegations of hoaxes and leaking state secrets.

"Currently, investigators are conducting an in-depth study," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police (INP), Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, on Friday (2/6/2023).

Police Inspector General Sandi said that the investigation was carried out after the Criminal Investigation Board of the Indonesian National Police (INP) received a report number: LP/B/128/V/2023/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated May 31, 2023. The report was made by a person with the initials AWW.

As for those reported, the owner, user, and administrator of the Twitter account @dennyindrayana and the Instagram account @dennyindrayana99.

AWW, as the reporter, also brought a bundle of screenshots of Instagram accounts and a 16 GB flash drive as evidence.

In the report, said Police Inspector General Sandi, the article that is suspected is Article 45 A paragraph (2) Jo Article 28 Paragraph (2) Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning ITE (Information and Electronic Transactions) and/or Article 14 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2) and Article 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and/or Article 112 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 112 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 207 of the Criminal Code.

"While the description of the incident, namely on May 31, 2023, the reporter saw posts on  Twitter with the account name @dennyindrayana and social media Instagram with the account name @dennyindrayana99 which posted posts that allegedly contained elements of hate speech (SARA), fake news (hoaxes), an insult to the authorities and leaking state secrets," explained the Inspector General of Police. Sandi Nugroho.
