Inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police Directorate of Criminal Investigation has arrested three suspects involved in a child kidnapping case.

Senior Superintendent Asep Darmawan, the Riau Police Head of Criminal Investigation, said on Tuesday (13/8/2024) that the suspects are identified as SG (29), HD (28), and MR (25), who are acquaintances of the victim’s father. 

The victim, FS, is a 9-year-old girl from Tualang, Siak Regency.

The kidnapping occurred on 8 August  2024, when suspect FS was taken from her home in Tualang while her mother was attending a local event. The suspects, who were under the influence of alcohol, initially kidnapped FS after a disagreement with the girl's father, identified as DH, who had stolen their phones and motorcycle.

“After the suspects sobered up, they discovered their belongings were stolen by the victim’s father,” Chief Asep explained.

The case remains under investigation.
