Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB), known as Whoosh, resumed normal operations on Thursday (19/9/2024), following an earthquake that struck Bandung Regency on Wednesday,.
According to PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), all train tracks have been thoroughly inspected and deemed safe.
“We conducted a detailed examination of the entire rail network, including bridges, tunnels, and surface tracks, using inspection trains equipped with sensors to detect potential damage,”said KCIC General Manager Eva Chairunisa, as quoted by antaranews.com.
She assured the public that KCIC used advanced technology to ensure the safety of the Whoosh service.
Whoosh operates 48 trips daily, with the first departure at 5.5 am from Tegalluar Station, Bandung, and at 6.40 am from Halim Station, Jakarta. Passengers whose trips were canceled due to the earthquake can obtain a full refund until Friday.
Inspection trains, including the Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT), have confirmed that the 144 km route, which includes 82 km of bridges, 13 tunnels totaling 17 km, and 42 km of surface tracks, is safe for travel.
