inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. Cirebon Sub-regional City Police investigates the food poisoning cases on 20 elementary school students of Setu Wetan 2 after consuming chicken soup from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

“The students had nausea, vomiting, and dizziness shortly after eating lunch at school," said Cirebon Sub-regional City Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sumarni on Tuesday (11/4/2025).

During the meeting, he stated that his team, along with the Health Office (Dinkes), had conducted a surprise inspection of the kitchen providing the school's food.

He further stated that the joint team thoroughly inspected the kitchen and took food samples for laboratory testing.

According to him, the administrative inspection results showed that the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) had met the requirements and was officially certified as a distributor of MBG.

He also said he had the opportunity to taste the chicken soup served by the MBG program provider.

"We have taken food samples. The SPPG's administrative requirements are complete and certified. We are just waiting for the laboratory results," he explained.

He further revealed that, based on preliminary data, eight schools received similar chicken soup, but only Setu Wetan 2 Elementary School reported symptoms of food poisoning.

Police and health officials are currently examining the ingredients used in the food, such as bean sprouts, cabbage, and chicken, to determine the source of the students' health problems.

Sumarni urged all MBG food providers to tighten hygiene supervision and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) at every stage of processing.

"We ask all parties to adhere to hygiene standards and follow the SOPs correctly," she explained.
