Inp.polri.go.id - Papua. Police reports a shooting by unknown individual occurred in Trans Nabire Enatorali KM 192 Toll Road. Police says the bullet lands on a passing truck.

The Head of Papua Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady, says Junaidi, Edwin, and Omar were in the truck when the incident occurred. Doiyai Sub-regional Police is currently investigating the case.

"The shooting incident occurred when the truck was passing the toll road. They were then surprised with a gun fire hitting the front body of the truck," says Benny in written statement on Monday (9/2/2024).

Benny adds that the shooting hits one of the passenger, Omar. He got hit in his right palm and right calf. Currently he is being treated in Pratama Dogiyai Hospital and soon will be referred to Nabire Hospital.

As of now, police is investigating and pursuing the shooters. The examination on victims also remain continues.

"Police have begun the initial investigation process by questioning the truck driver and passengers," Benny says.
