Inp.polri.go.id - Palembang.  The Musi Banyuasin Sub-regional Police in South Sumatra, are investigating a case of intimidation and threats against Dr. Syahpri Putra Wangsa, a physician at RSUD Sekayu Regional Hospital.

“We have received reports from both the hospital and Dr. Syahpri directly. The case will be handled according to legal procedures,” Musi Banyuasin Police Chief Superintendent God Parlasro Sinaga said Thursday (14/8/2025), adding that the Criminal Investigation Unit has begun its probe.

Two witnesses have been questioned so far, while potential charges are under review. Police said mediation could be facilitated if both sides agree, but legal proceedings will continue until then.

The incident reportedly began when a patient’s family member threatened and pressured Dr. Syahpri removed his mask while treating a patient in the VIP ICU.

The doctor said the demand endangered his safety and violated health protocols, stressing he had followed hospital SOPs.
