inp.polri.go.id - Lamandau. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating illicit drug trafficking. This time, the Lamandau Sub-regional Police force under the leadership of Superintendent Joko Handono, successfully thwarted the smuggling of 46.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine across provinces.
Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan, revealed this while leading a press conference on the disclosure of the narcotics case at the Lamandau Sub-regional Police Headquarters, Sunday (9/19/2025) afternoon.
The confiscated evidence consisted of 44 large plastic packages containing crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 46.7 kilograms. The drugs were found in three backpacks stored in the Daihatsu Sigra car used by the perpetrators. The police also arrested four suspects with the initials SF, EW, UM, and MG.
"The methamphetamine evidence confiscated from the perpetrators is the result of an investigation into the import of narcotics in the Central Kalimantan border region originating from Malaysia," said Iwan.
He explained that the suspects admitted to being intermediaries for the sale of meth from West Kalimantan bound for South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan.
“The four suspects admitted that they were intermediaries for the sale of meth from West Kalimantan bound for South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan,” he explained.
Chief Iwan emphasized that this disclosure will continue to be developed to dismantle the network of senders and recipients of the methamphetamine.
The suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 or Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning drugs, which carries the threat of death or life imprisonment.
