"We will investigate this information," said Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Komarudin, Saturday (1/17/2026).

He confirmed that the use of inappropriate license plates will be prosecuted. Ticketing is also the sanction for using such inappropriate plates.

"Any use of a vehicle registration number (TNKB) that is not in accordance with its intended use is a violation of the regulations," explained the Traffic Director.

For your information, a video has circulated showing a Calya car using the white and blue license plate typical of electric vehicles. It is suspected that the use of the inappropriate plate is to circumvent the odd-even traffic policy.
