inp.polri.go.id - West Java. The West Java Regional Police has successfully uncovered an anarchist group with ties to an international network. This group is suspected of having affiliations with individuals abroad.

This was revealed directly by the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, in a press conference at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (9/16/2025).

He revealed that the investigation began with the arrest of four people in Bandung who were identified as having anarchist ideologies. These four people were also known to have links to an inmate at a local prison.

"They have an interest in anarchism, ideologies that disagree with the government, are destructive, and so on," said the West Java Regional Police Chief.

Rudi explained that the perpetrators' motivation began with a sense of disappointment with the social conditions they experienced daily. This dissatisfaction was further strengthened by the doctrine they obtained from the internet, which allowed them to connect with anarchist groups abroad.

This group is known for doing acts of vandalism, which are then publicized on social media. After their actions attract attention and are perceived as aligned with their overseas network, communication was then established.

"The received response comes from another country. Once they notice that they share the same ideology, they are then given the money. One method of sending money is through PayPal and digital wallets," said Chief Rudi.

The funds sent amount to tens of millions of rupiah, but the senders are still using pseudonyms. An in-depth investigation to uncover the senders' true identities is still ongoing.

In addition to the four core individuals, this group also has sympathizers from various backgrounds, including teenagers and students. Police are currently investigating the extent of their involvement.
